Equipment application scenarios
This final transmission is specifically designed for the Komatsu PC200-8MO medium-sized excavator and is a widely demanded replacement component in the engineering maintenance market. The application scenarios of medium-sized 20-ton excavators are complex: they are used for traveling on crushed stone roads in mines, operations in muddy paddy fields, long-distance transfer and climbing slopes, and repeated steering operations. These scenarios continuously test the traveling motor and planetary gear set. Once the final transmission leaks oil, experiences internal wear, shows insufficient power, exhibits one-sided deviation, or makes abnormal noises, the entire equipment will lose its mobility completely. The repair period and component costs are high, and many construction companies will directly choose to replace it with a brand-new assembly to reduce the time for disassembly and major repairs.
Key points for correct usage
1. Avoid forcefully steering in one direction for a long time or abruptly twisting the tracks while stationary, as this will cause the planetary gears and floating seals to endure instantaneous impacts, accelerating the tooth breakage of the gears and the leakage of the seals due to oil seepage. 2. The tension of the tracks should be adjusted moderately. If the tracks are too tight, it will continuously increase the load on the final drive, accelerating the wear of the bearings and gears; if the tracks are too loose, they are prone to derailment and collision with the driving wheels.
3. After water-crossing operations, check promptly. When the water level exceeds the driving wheels, it is highly likely to cause water to enter the seals, resulting in the emulsification and rusting of the gear oil. After water-crossing, prioritize checking whether there is water ingress or oil leakage in the final drive.
4. After installing new machines or new assemblies, they must undergo a running-in period: for the first 50 hours, reduce full-load climbing and heavy-load walking to avoid generating a large amount of metal debris from the newly meshed gears, which can cause early wear.
5. The oil quality of the hydraulic system must meet standards. If the hydraulic oil is contaminated and the filter elements are not replaced regularly, impurities will enter the walking motor, causing scratches on the flow distributor plate and the piston.

Regular maintenance plan
1. Daily inspection: Clean the mud, stones and tangled wires around the drive wheel and final drive housing every day. Observe whether there is any leakage of gear oil at the position of the housing and the floating seal; Pay attention to whether there are abnormal sounds, overheating or uneven walking speed during movement.
2. Oil level check: Check the gear oil level every 100 hours. Add the recommended heavy-duty extreme pressure gear oil (80W-90 GL-5). Do not mix different brand oils.
3. Oil change cycle: The first oil change for the new assembly is after 100 hours of operation, to remove the metal powder generated during the running-in period; For regular conditions, replace the gear oil every 500 hours; In mining and high-frequency heavy-duty conditions, shorten the oil change interval to 250 hours. When draining the oil, observe the old oil. A small amount of fine metal powder is normal. If there is a large amount of metal debris or the oil turns white and emulsified, it indicates internal wear or water ingress, and timely maintenance is required.
4. Sealing component inspection: The floating oil seal is a wear-prone component. Replace the sealing kit first if there is oil leakage. Do not wait until the gear is dry and worn out before damaging the entire set of gears.
5. Pipeline inspection: Regularly check the oil drain pipe of the traveling motor. Blockage of the oil drain pipe or excessive back pressure is a common cause of internal motor damage.
Industry Tips
Many final drive components fail prematurely, not due to the quality of the parts themselves, but rather due to lack of maintenance and improper operation. For the same quality assembly, proper maintenance can ensure a stable service life of over ten thousand hours; neglecting the inspection of oil and operating with oil leakage for a long time will result in failure within just a few thousand hours. When purchasing replacement assemblies, prioritize checking the part number 20Y-27-00590 to ensure it matches the hydraulic interface, installation flange, and gear ring parameters of the PC200-8MO model, avoiding secondary damage caused by mismatch during installation.
