1. What is the Switch Pressure Control Valve?
In the WA380-6's transmission hydraulic circuit, the Switch Pressure Control Valve is an electro-hydraulic valve responsible for smoothly engaging and disengaging the clutch packs for the forward and reverse gears.
Its primary function is to modulate or control the rate of pressure rise in the clutch hydraulic circuit. Instead of the clutch engaging with a jarring shock (which would cause rough shifting and damage components), this valve allows for a gradual, controlled application of oil pressure to the clutch piston.
