Before replacing the filter element, it is essential to release the pressure in the hydraulic system and ensure that the oil tank is well protected against dust to prevent external dust from entering the hydraulic oil. The sealing ring must be fully and properly fitted to avoid air intake and suction. In mining operations with heavy loads and crushed stone conditions, there are more impurities, and the filter element gets clogged more quickly; in conventional earthwork operations, the service life is longer. After the filter element gets clogged, the oil supply becomes unsmooth, which will directly affect the power output of the equipment.

It is not recommended to repeatedly clean and reuse the oil-absorbing filter element. Once the filter material adsorbs hard particles, the filtering performance will irreversibly decline. For earthwork conditions, it is recommended to replace the filter element within 1000 hours. For heavy-duty mining conditions, the replacement period should be shortened to within 500 hours. When replacing the hydraulic oil, it is more effective to replace the current oil filter element simultaneously. The spare filter elements should be stored in a dry and clean environment to avoid bumps, oil stains, and contamination.

Inferior oil filter elements have insufficient filtering capacity and are prone to causing permanent damage to high-priced hydraulic components such as the main pump and motor, resulting in high repair costs. If the hydraulic components have already suffered scratches and wear, replacing the filter element alone cannot repair the damaged parts.
