1. Double layer filtration system
Coarse filter layer: intercepts larger particle impurities (such as metal debris).
Fine filtration layer: using a foldable filter element to increase the filtration area and improve separation efficiency. Some models may integrate hydrophilic filter elements, which preferentially adsorb moisture and repel fuel.
2. Visual water level monitoring
The bottom of the separator is usually equipped with a transparent observation window or a float type water level sensor. When the water level reaches the warning line, the sensor triggers the cab instrument alarm, prompting the driver to perform drainage operations. For example, the monitoring system of Komatsu HD785-7 will display a "high fuel moisture" code accompanied by a buzzer warning.
3. Manual drain valve
The separated water can be manually drained by rotating or pressing the bottom valve. When draining, attention should be paid to avoiding fuel leaks and using containers to collect wastewater. Some models may be equipped with electric drain valves, which can be remotely operated through cabin buttons.
